Our History

A hundred years ago, the Botel was first operated by Captain Willem. Willem sailed from his berth in Maastricht back and forth to Liège, with his ship full of guests. He also made longer trips to the German Rhineland , and the Botel was practically used as a cruise ship.

Later he dropped anchor, for good this time, at the Maastricht quay. On the Maasboulevard, the boat has now been moored for decades and no longer makes trips. For years, the Botel was run as a true family business, where everyone in the family contributed. Since April 1st, 2023, the botel has undergone a complete renovation and is now again open for business.
